Billing & cancellation.
Clear invoices. Clear renewals. Clear exits. Here’s how billing, cancellations, refunds, and service credits are handled.
Scope and service agreements
RackHamsters is a hosting brand operated by Angry Hamsters Media, LLC. This policy describes our general practices for billing, renewal, cancellation, and refunds. The accepted order, Terms of Service, and any signed service-specific agreement also apply.
If a signed agreement expressly sets different fees, notices, or refund conditions, it controls for the affected service.
Your order and billing cycle
Your accepted order or invoice specifies the service, recurring charges, one-time setup fees if applicable, billing frequency, and agreed minimum term. A quote is not a binding commitment until accepted.
Recurring services renew for successive billing periods until properly cancelled. Keep contact and payment details current.
Payments, fees, and taxes
You are responsible for agreed charges and applicable taxes. We may require cleared payment and reasonable verification before activating service.
Extra services, administrative work, usage-related charges, reinstatement, or data recovery are charged only when stated in an order or separately quoted and accepted. This page does not establish a universal late-payment or reconnection fee.
How to cancel a service
Send a written cancellation request from an authorized account contact to [email protected]. Include the affected service and intended cancellation date. We may need to verify that the request is authorized before processing it.
Simply shutting down a server, removing files, stopping payment, or transferring an unrelated domain does not constitute cancellation. We will confirm the cancellation once it has been verified and processed.
Timing, renewals, and commitments
Submit cancellation requests far enough ahead of your next renewal to allow reasonable verification and processing. If a particular order specifies advance notice or a minimum term, that written provision governs.
Cancellation ordinarily takes effect at the end of a paid period unless we agree otherwise. Early termination does not automatically remove charges due under an existing commitment.
Refunds and unused service
Unless an accepted order or applicable law expressly provides otherwise, setup fees, services already delivered, prepaid hosting terms, and unused portions of an active billing period are nonrefundable. No general money-back guarantee is created by this policy.
If we agree to an exception, the amount and conditions will be confirmed in writing. Refund processing times may depend on the payment method and financial institutions.
Late payments and suspension
Overdue invoices can result in reminders, restrictions, suspension, or termination as permitted by our Terms of Service. We will aim to give notice when practical. Where security or suspected fraud is involved, protective action may be needed sooner.
A service suspension does not necessarily cancel an active agreement or remove outstanding payment obligations.
Billing disputes and payment rights
If an invoice appears incorrect, contact [email protected] with the invoice number and a description of the discrepancy so we can investigate.
Nothing in this policy removes chargeback, refund, or billing-dispute rights that cannot legally be waived. Please do not email full payment-card numbers or credentials.
SLA credits are different from refunds
An outage credit is not an automatic cash refund. Service credits are available only where an accepted order or written SLA schedule expressly creates them, under the conditions stated there.
See the Service Level Agreement for the incident review and credit framework. No upstream facility credit passes through automatically.
Data retrieval and service closure
Before cancellation or termination becomes effective, retrieve and independently back up everything you need from your server. RackHamsters does not guarantee retention or recovery of customer data after service closure.
Restoration or reactivation of a terminated system, if available, may require a new order and is not guaranteed.
